House has electric heat – We pay equal monthly payments of $260 which covers all electrical utilities. We pay much less when we are not in Togo for the Winter.
You are less than 100 feet to the back lane which has the gas line and Sask Gas will run a line to the house for free, then you have to get a furnace and ducting installed, but basement ceiling is open so that would not be too much trouble if you wanted gas.
There is a wood burning stove in the basement that the last owner used for heat. We removed the pipe as we were told it would need an insulated pipe installed to properly vent the stove. So this is another option.
